Chief Finance Officer, Chanel Scandinavia

As part of the Scandinavian affiliate, you will be responsible for the development and the running of the Finance Department. The CFO supervises 3 accountants, 1 Finance Controller and 1 intern. The position requires a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

You will report hierarchically to the Managing Director, be a member of the Steering Committee, and have a dotted line to the European CFO. The position is based in Copenhagen and requires some traveling, about 15%.

Financial Management
Budgets and Management Reporting
• Preparation of management reports and actual against business plan & budget as required.
• Prepare cash flow management processes.
• Manage processes to record & reconcile expenses against income and provide regular management reporting.
• Ensure a timely completion of audits, tax audits and obtain Audit Reports

Accounting
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting transactions
• Ensure preparation and quality of financial statements and financial reporting in terms of local GAAP, IFRS and requirements of Management
• Ensure consistency of accounting practices with IFRS group policies and communication of accounting policies to controlling teams

Asset Protection
• Review procedures and methods of control concerning: Inventory, Procure-to-Pay System, Payments
• Identify weaknesses in Internal Control, implement appropriate changes
• Ensure Credit Control
 • Is responsible for Insurance and Safety policies and processes

Cash Management 
• Is responsible for Cash Management in collaboration with the European Treasury Department:
• Day-to-day cash management and pooling (zero balance objective)
• Cash Forecasting (update and accuracy improvements)
• Multilateral Netting
• Operational and Treasury payments (segregation of duties, controls)
• Cash Collection from boutiques and global payment procedures for boutiques 
• Bank relationship and local bank selection (rating, fees benchmark, quality of service)
• FX management within approved guidelines – dealing controls
• Dividend payment within dividend policy
• Capital Structure & Financing, including tax considerations
• Treasury accounting • Ensuring controls on electronic treasury system (passwords, tokens)

Tax
• Deal with, and advise on tax issues
• Ensure compliance with local authorities;
• In collaboration with the Global Tax Department, organize all tax documentation

Third party accounting/tax firm
• Liaise and manage the relationship with any third party accounting/auditing/tax firm
• Ensure third party firms are producing the expected deliverables (income tax and VAT declarations…)

Support for Management & Operational Functions
Business Partner
• Know and understand each Business Model (Fashion, F&B, W&FJ).
• Provide value-added insight • Collaborate with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, and supply chain;
• Play an active role as member of the affiliate's management board;
• Run a finance department that support business strategies; adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.

Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration or equivalent
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• A minimum of 8 years, with 5 years post‐qualification, of senior financial management experience

Ability & Skills
• Well presented, good communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to produce results within tight deadlines in a very busy environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to interact effectively with a geographically dispersed multicultural team composed of international and national personnel
• Analytical skills and decision making ability even in complex and sensitive situations
• Capacity building of finance, non‐finance staff, partners and community members
• Hand‐on use of Microsoft Dynamics AX and reporting software packages
• A high level of knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office especially Word & Excel

Languages
• Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and English
• French would be a plus
