IT Manager, Chanel Scandinavia

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to oversee all IT (Information Technology) functions in our Scandinavian area. You will be in charge of a team of two and manage the company’s technology operations and the guarantee the smooth implementation and running of new IT systems and policies.

You will report directly to the Managing Director, be a member of the Steering Committee, and have a dotted line to the Europe CIO. The position is based in Copenhagen and requires some traveling, about 15%.

Work will generally be performed using computer equipment in an indoor office or boutique environment. Setup or maintenance of some peripheral equipment may require work in areas such as data rooms or wiring closets with restricted room or movement.

Your main responsibilities are:

IT Operations
• Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
• Plan, develop and implement the IT budget; report on expenditure
• Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
• Coordinate IT managers and supervise computer scientists, technicians and other professionals to provide guidance

Project Management
• Attend vendor meetings for IT matters (EDI…)
• Liaise with European Expert Teams; be the first point of contact on IT matters locally
• Follow-up on all IT Projects (ERP, applications…);
• Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.

Global
Collaborate with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, supply chain and finance;

Key Competencies and skills
• Proven experience as IT Manager or similar role
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX/Hyperion/YourCegid Retail Solutions
• Experience in controlling information technology budget
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication abilities
• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus

Languages
Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and English French notions would be a plus
