The next election for the European parliament is going to be decisive for the future of Europe and that is why the Chamber has decided to invite a member of the European Parliament: Bendt Bendtsen on February 21st.

In May 2019, Europe is going to elect a new European parliament. Since the last election in 2014 a lot of changes have clearly shaken the European and worldwide political landscape: the Brexit, the migration crisis, the election of D. Trump…

The next election is going to be decisive for the future of Europe and that is why the Chamber has decided to invite a member of the European Parliament: Bendt Bendtsen on February 21st.

Bendt Bendtsen became the political leader of the Conservative Party in 1999 and became the party's Chairman in November 2000. He was the leader of the Conservative People's Party from 1999 to 2008. He was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry from 2001 to 2008.
He was elected Member of the European Parliament in the 2009 elections and reelected in 2014, and has in this period been president for the organisation SME Europe representing small and medium sized companies. He will not run for election this year.

Bendt Bendtsen will  talk about the problems facing the EU including Brexit, and give us an insight into the work of the European Parliament, the problems that will face the new Parliament, and the effect of the election result on this work and the development of the EU.
