Edito Newsletter December 2019

Dear members,

2019 has been a busy year, indeed we have organized more than twenty events varying from workshops for job seekers and team-building events to conferences, VIP dinners, and of course our annual gala dinner. In total, more than 1.000 guests have participated in our events this year and we are thankful and devoted to all of you.

We are currently working on the program for 2020 where several conferences are already planned, more information on these is found in the newsletter. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any ideas or wishes in terms of topics for the events in the coming year.

The Chamber has continued to develop its services and we have finished several recruitment tasks, signed new contracts to our payroll management as well as organized intercultural training. The Chamber also offers office space, if you need to host one of your employees in the center of Copenhagen, please remember that the Chamber can welcome him/her. A meeting room is also available to use.

After years of effort, we succeeded in pushing the French and Danish governments to conclude an agreement in principle on the taxation of pensions, a point that was the essential block for the opening of negotiations on a new tax treaty between France and Denmark. We hope that this new agreement will be concluded before the Tour de France arrives in Denmark in July 2021 and we will do our best to help where we can..

For 2020 and the years to come, the Board of the Chamber will work on a strategy to allow the continued development of the Chamber, to increase our capacities for organization and to address new challenges. At the moment, expanding the team is a substantial priority in order to strengthen the Chamber. For your information, the first project planned for 2020, at the request of some of our members, is the Young Danish-French Chamber of Commerce (YDFCC). Information on this new project is available in the newsletter along with details of the first event of the YDFCC in January.

We take the opportunity of this newsletter to thank you for your commitment to the Chamber. Your support is what allows our existence and what enables us to continue our work since the Chamber was founded 6 years ago. Un grand MERCI, en stor TAK.

We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events next year.

Sincerely,

Anders Torbøl
President of the Danish-French Chamber of Commerce
