Startup/Entrepreneur of the year -Award ceremony 2019

This year was the third year in a row that the Chamber held the "Start-up / Entrepreneur" event, that gathered around 80 guests at the French Embassy. The ceremony started with an introduction by the French Ambassador in Denmark, Caroline Ferrari, and Anders Torbøl, President of the Chamber of Commerce.

Before the presentation of the candidates, we had the pleasure to hear three speakers:

- Claus Larsen, country manager of Atos Denmark, opened the event with a presentation on Atos’ expertise in cybersecurity. Atos is a French company and leader in digital transformation with more than 120,000 employees in 73 countries. Atos is the official partner of the Start-up/ Entrepreneur award.

- The CEO of Flex Hex, Laurent Marquis, told us about his multicultural company built up by French, Danish and Slovenian innovators, who have developed a concept based on Hexapods and robots.

- The last speaker was Olivier Corradi, founder of “Tomorrow” and winner of the last year prize. He presented the evolution of “Tomorrow” over the year and its development prospects.

This year, eight candidates applied with very diverse projects from the fields of art, high tech, food, services, etc. Each applicant was given the chance to hold a 2-minute presentation of his/her project:
- StepUp Solutions presented its technology, which aims at improving sport training efficiency by monitoring breathing.
- Nspill explained why cyber security is a today necessity and how it can protect sensitive data.
- Attitude Consult presented its service offer to support French companies to develop their business in Denmark and the Nordics.
- Thomas Mougeolle Photography invited us into his visual world and explained how he uses photography and video to tell stories.
- Lapee presented an original but very useful equipment for women: the first industrialized female urinal for outdoor events.
- Pragma 9 introduced us to their start-up concept, which consists in assisting Danish and French companies in the field of Public Procurement and Public Contracts in France and Denmark.
- Canelés Dejean explained how they introduced the Canelé, a French culinary speciality from Toulouse, on the Danish market.
- Aerondrone presented its webshop, that is dedicated to drones and the services it can provide to both companies and individuals.

Pierre-Yves Jullien, the president of the jury, stressed the quality of the applications and explained how difficult it had been to designate a winner. FYI the judging panel was composed of various profiles:
• The members of the board of the Danish-French Chamber of Commerce
• C.C.E.s, French Foreign Trade Advisors
• Business France Denmark
• French-Danish managers
• Elected Frenchmen
• Institut Français
• Atout France
• The French Embassy in Denmark.

This year, the jury chose the innovative project of Lapee. Congratulations to Alexander Egebjerg and Gina Périer who will be accommodated in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce free of charge for one year.

The ceremony was concluded by a networking cocktail, at which guests enjoyed a glass of wine offered by our sponsor Les Grand Chais de France.

A special thanks to Atos for supporting the “Start-up of the Year” award.
